X2com says nearly 10% growth is backing a broader security push

X2com said it grew nearly 10% in the first five months of this year and will brief partners on its roadmap on July 3. The same company says security is now part of that roadmap, after adding DNS filtering to its connectivity portfolio at the end of last year.

The Dutch channel player says it has about 125 active partners in the Netherlands and about 40 in Belgium. X2com also said its Belgian operation runs with a bilingual team, and that partner support starts with onboarding, a knowledge base and training.

DNS filtering is the security entry point

X2com says the DNS filtering service lets partners monitor internet traffic for end customers and quickly block phishing, malware and unwanted content. The service was developed in-house, and Tom said it is not a one-off move on security.

Tom said X2com plans to introduce more security services in the coming years. He added that security for small and medium-sized businesses is a logical extension of partners’ connectivity services.

What this means for channel partners

The read for partners is simple: X2com is tying growth, security and managed services together in the same channel model. The company says partners should lean on integrations, mobile, hosted telephony with ClearVox and security to protect margin.

X2com also frames its partner model as a mutual choice rather than a top-down vendor relationship, which is how it describes long-running ties in the Netherlands and Belgium.
