Royal Caribbean made an itinerary change for its ship Allure of the Seas after a propulsion issue was reported during a 6-day sailing.
The cruise departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with planned calls at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Falmouth in Jamaica, and Nassau in the Bahamas; the revised routing was implemented while guests were already at sea.
Nassau takes the slot of a missed Jamaica stop
The scheduled stop in Falmouth, Jamaica was removed from the itinerary, and an earlier arrival in Nassau was arranged instead.
The revised schedule added a full day in Nassau on Wednesday, while the original Nassau visit on Friday, May 29, 2026 was retained. The return to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, May 30, 2026 remained unchanged.
Reduced speed tied to the propulsion system concern
A mid-sailing adjustment was made aboard Allure of the Seas after a technical issue was linked to one of the ships propulsion systems.
The visit to Falmouth was cancelled because the ship was required to sail at a reduced speed while the technical concern was being managed.
Guest-facing compensation and excursion handling
Shore plans in Jamaica were cancelled for guests due to the missed stop in Falmouth, and prepaid Royal Caribbean excursions booked for Falmouth were automatically cancelled and refunded as onboard credit. The onboard credit from cancelled Falmouth excursions could be used during the cruise.
Unused onboard credit was expected to be refunded to the guests card on file within 14 days after disembarkation, and the onboard credit arrangement was introduced to reduce the financial effect of the cancelled Jamaica stop.
Schedule mechanics: where the change shows up
Allure of the Seas is a gross tonnage ship operating a 6-day western Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After the stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, guests had a sea day when the itinerary change was announced through the ships public address system, and the earlier Nassau arrival created an unusual route pattern; the articles reconstruction is that the ship was scheduled to reach Nassau two days ahead of the original call. Guests were directed to the shore excursions desk on Deck 6 and to the Royal Caribbean app for additional activity bookings linked to the extra Nassau day.
