MagtiCom, described as the largest telecommunications provider in Georgia, has selected Mavenir as its strategic small cell technology partner for a nationwide small cell deployment project.
Mavenir will supply a 4G and 5G small cell technology portfolio covering hardware, software, management, and orchestration, with the deployment expected to begin in Q2 2026 after beta testing.
Partner selection after an earlier trial
MagtiCom confirmed Mavenir as its preferred small cell technology partner following a successful trial earlier in the year. The operator7s nationwide program is structured to start with beta testing for priority residential, small office, and enterprise customers.
The beta phase is then followed by a full roll-out later in 2026, positioning the deployment to scale from targeted coverage areas to a broader commercial footprint.
Mavenir9s 4G/5G small cell stack for indoor and outdoor
Mavenir said it will supply its full range of 4G and 5G small cell technology, spanning hardware, software, management, and orchestration solutions. Mavenir also described its small cell portfolio as fully cloud-native, aimed at delivering 4G and 5G coverage across indoor, outdoor, enterprise, rural, and private network environments.
In addition to coverage, Mavenir said its software-upgradable small cells are designed to boost capacity and coverage while supporting advanced use cases across Industry 4.0, healthcare, retail, aviation, maritime, and first responder communications.
Timing: nationwide deployment expected to start in Q2 2026
The countrywide small cell deployment is expected to commence during Q2 2026. MagtiCom7s plan is to begin with beta testing for priority residential, small office, and enterprise customers before expanding to full roll-out later in 2026. In parallel, some operators also plan backup options such as global broadband satellite services for coverage gaps.
The approach implies a staged launch: first validate performance in selected customer segments, then widen coverage as the roll-out progresses.
What MagtiCom says it will gain from the deal
MagtiCom offers services including mobile telephony, fibre-optic internet, IPTV, and VoIP to more than three million customers. MagtiCom7s Chief Technology Officer Vasil Melikidze said the partnership would enable the company to extend capacity, boost indoor coverage, and support growing demand for high-speed mobile data.
In the same statement, Melikidze said the collaboration would enhance the digital experience for MagtiCom7s customers and reinforce MagtiCom7s role in driving Georgia7s next chapter of mobile innovation.
