Voys launches Voys Ascend UCaaS/CCaaS white-label offering with Intermedia

Voys is expanding its UCaaS portfolio with Voys Ascend, a white-label UCaaS/CCaaS service licensed exclusively from Intermedia and introduced first in the Netherlands before moving abroad.

The Groningen-based provider positions the move as a way to cover the full range of customer segments, while keeping the experience consistent across products.

From selfservice to enterprise, Voys builds on its Freedom and VoIPGRID setups

Voys is an ISO 27001-certified UCaaS provider based in Groningen. The company says it already runs a selfservice solution aimed at the lower end of the market, alongside an enterprise solution for the upper end.connectivity insights

Ben Hoetmer points to Voys5 Freedom platform as the encapsulation of know-how for scenarios such as a single connection for a freelancer. He also frames selfservice as essential for making that lower end profitable, while helping keep operational costs low when it is arranged properly.connectivity insights

For the partner channel, Voys relies on its sister organization VoIPGRID.Read more on the blog.

Why Ascend exists: closing a 3comfortable gap4 and unifying the user experience

Hoetmer describes Voys Ascend as the portfolio component meant to fill what he calls a 3comfortable gap4 between the company5 selfservice offering and broader enterprise needs. He says the 3important requirement4 across the product set was that the user experience has the same appearance.

In Hoetmer5 framing, Voys Ascend is designed around simple use, smart communication solutions, and as much selfservice as possiblewhile still leaving room for the human side within customer contact.

Intermedia as the UCaaS/CCaaS building block for rollout and exclusivity

During Voys5 search for a solution, the company made contact with Intermedia, an American operator that developed a combined UCaaS/CCaaS solution. Voys says the Ascend service can be taken exclusively in license by Voys as a white-label offering, and that it is introducing the service as Voys Ascend.

Hoetmer says the Ascend building block fits into Voys5 existing services portfolio, with Voys5 existing telecom production line connecting seamlessly to the Intermedia solution. He adds that acceptance tests confirmed the fit.

On go-to-market, Hoetmer says Voys Ascend will be introduced first in the Netherlands, then abroad, and also through the partner channel. He also says Intermedia5 exclusivity provides Voys with the ability to exploit the service in the countries where it wants to expand, and that this exclusivity is essential for its growth ambitions.

Hoetmer also links the technology positioning of Ascend to customer outcomes, saying Ascend helps customers build and maintain their customer relationships and uses smart technology and AI to add value.

Governance and foundations: steward-ownership and the 48percent.org model

Beyond product expansion, the article outlines Voys5 governance approach. Voys operates based on collective responsibility, with employees having no managers for direct guidance, supported by a highly transparent model where employees can access data including financials, tickets, code, and customer information.

Hoetmer says Mark and Ben decided to position themselves less loosely from the company as founders/owners, leading Voys to choose steward-ownership after a long evaluation of multiple options. Under that approach, Voys places company shares in a foundation rather than held by investors, with Mark and Ben transferring their shares to the foundation. The article says most shares are gifted while a small part is sold to compensate for delivered effort, and that the foundation purchases the shares using the company5 capital.

Separately, the article says Voys initiated the foundation 48percent.org years ago to address lack of good telecom infrastructure for part of the world5s population. It states that at the time of initiation, this concern covered about 48% of the world5s population, and Hoetmer argues that while legislation requires operators to reserve part of their profit for remote infrastructure projects, he says the concept does not yet workat least in the way it is applied in practice. He says the foundation aims to help progress where possible, and adds that internet should be available to everyone.
