KT says it is accelerating its transition toward an AX platform company and reorganizing around an 6AX platform company7 strategy centered on AI-driven telecom, enterprise, and customer services. KT executives laid out the plans on an investor conference call through new AI platforms, enterprise services, and hyper-personalized customer offerings.
For telecom operators and enterprise connectivity buyers, the substance is less about a rebrand and more about where the AI work will land: customer operations, managed offerings, and sector-specific reference models.
AX platform company: telecom, enterprise, and customer services
KTs AX strategy is built around AI-driven telecom, enterprise, and customer services, with the company saying it is reorganizing its approach to align with that model. KT also says it plans to expand AI offerings across finance, manufacturing, public sector, and defense markets using customized AX platforms and managed services.
AI applied to customer experience and operations
KT plans to apply AI across customer service, IPTV, sales, and business operations. It also says it is prioritizing customer protection and trust recovery as part of its AI efforts, and rebuilding customer trust following subscriber declines earlier this year linked to an early termination penalty waiver program.
KT launched a customer protection 365 task force in April and says it is using AI to analyze customer feedback and identify risks proactively. KT is also expanding AI-enabled consumer services including MyK for B2C customers and Sajang Easy AI for small business owners, while applying AI to customer consultation, sales, phone activation, and customer support to improve operational efficiency and personalization.
Enterprise focus: specialized AX and agentic AI for AICC
On the enterprise side, Bong-Gyun Kim says KT intends to focus on specialized AI services for public sector and industry customers. Kim also said KTs B2B strategic goal for 2026 is to lead the B2B AX market with specialized AI for the public sector and different industries.
KT says it plans to expand its presence in the AX infrastructure market through large-scale projects and develop sector-specific AI reference models and packaged telecom and AI offerings. The company identified finance, manufacturing, defense, and public sector organizations among its target verticals.
Sang-won Park says KT is developing an AX platform-centered project implementation system combining AI consulting, AI platforms, and operational capabilities. Park said KT is focusing on agentic AI and AI contact center technologies, and is incorporating business task automation based on agentic AI to develop the next-generation AICC. KT adds that the next-generation AI contact center platform will evolve beyond customer service into a broader marketing and operational platform deployable across multiple sectors, and that it plans to develop sector-specific AI platforms that consider industrial characteristics, government regulations, security, and sovereign requirements.
Security and infrastructure investment signals
KT says it is emphasizing shareholder returns and core infrastructure investments alongside its AX plans, and that it plans to strengthen information security, network infrastructure, and IT systems. KT also says it will continue expanding managed AI services and data infrastructure capabilities as part of its broader AI growth strategy.
Hye-Byung Min said KT reorganized its growth strategy and implementation system following management and business restructuring, and that KT will evolve to become an AX platform company that leads AI innovation of Korea. Min also said AX innovation is a springboard for our next leap forward.
