Blue is studying the construction of a third data center, starting the SecNumCloud qualification process for its Blue Secure Cloud offering, and looking for acquisitions outside western France under a new reference shareholder.
The Rennes-based operator is targeting companies that are strongly established in their local markets, with Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux and Paris named as priority areas. Blue has already completed three targeted acquisitions in recent years.
Acquisitions now define the expansion plan
Blue says it wants local businesses that can anchor the group outside the Grand Ouest. It acquired Océanis in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in May 2021 to expand in Vendée, ADMI in Le Havre in April 2023 to add IT fleet management capabilities, and Openhost in Nantes in December 2025 to strengthen its public cloud expertise, especially around Microsoft 365.
Data center capacity is on a four-to-five-year clock
Blue says a data center project takes about four years from investment decision to service launch, and the company is planning on a four- to five-year horizon. That makes the third-site study a medium-term capacity play rather than an immediate build.
Blue Secure Cloud enters the SecNumCloud track
Blue is beginning the SecNumCloud qualification process for Blue Secure Cloud. The company has framed that step alongside its broader move into a more national cloud footprint.
Read for French cloud buyers
Blue’s revenue rose from €41.9 million in 2023 to €45.4 million in 2024 and then to €55 million in 2025, while the company says it employs about 200 people. For buyers, the practical signal is that Blue is pairing regional acquisition-led expansion with a longer-cycle infrastructure and security agenda.
