Huawei was named a Leader in Gartner’s 2026 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure for the fourth consecutive year. IDC put the worldwide enterprise WLAN market at $2.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, with Wi-Fi 7 accounting for almost 40% of enterprise access point revenue.
Gartner’s criteria are moving toward operations
Gartner says enterprise wired and wireless LAN infrastructure is increasingly being judged by operational outcomes rather than feature lists. The firm also says AI-powered automation, hands-off operations, and embedded security are becoming key purchasing criteria for enterprise LAN infrastructure.
Gartner recognized Huawei’s strengths in AI-driven operations, autonomous network management, and integrated security.
Huawei’s automation pitch runs through its campus stack
Huawei says its AI-driven operational framework provides end-to-end visibility across users, applications, devices, and network resources while automating much of the troubleshooting process. The company says its systems can automatically resolve a significant proportion of wireless network faults without human intervention.
Huawei’s latest wireless platform includes technologies designed to reduce interference, improve mobility, and maintain connectivity as users move across campus environments.
Wi-Fi 7 and SmartAD sit inside the same portfolio
Earlier in 2026, Huawei announced that it ranked first globally in enterprise-class Wi-Fi 7 market share and shipments, according to IDC data. Huawei says it has shipped more than two million enterprise Wi-Fi 7 products worldwide.
Huawei says its SmartAD technology uses AI embedded within network switches to establish behavioral baselines for connected devices and identify unusual activity in real time. Huawei says SmartAD can automatically contain threats before they spread across the wider network.
Read for enterprise WLAN buyers
The relevant benchmark for enterprise buyers is not just throughput. IDC’s Q4 2025 figures show that Wi-Fi 7 is already carrying a large share of enterprise access point revenue, while Gartner’s criteria put more weight on operational outcomes, automation, and security.
That combination gives campus networking RFPs a clearer shortlist: vendor claims about self-healing, visibility, and embedded security will be judged against the same buying criteria Gartner says are rising in importance.
