Comarch ties user group to IRIS², sovereign networks, and agentic AI

Comarch ties user group to IRIS², sovereign networks, and agentic AI

Comarch used its 2026 user group to connect Europe’s IRIS² program, agentic AI, and intent-based operations with the next round of CSP architecture choices. The company’s pitch rested on one basic claim: satellite infrastructure and autonomous network control now sit in the same planning conversation.

The event lands against a familiar backdrop. Geopolitical instability has made connectivity a key part of national sovereignty, and the United States has many more satellites and launches them much more often than Europe. The European Union’s IRIS² program is investing €10 billion to build a secure, multi-orbit satellite network, and that kind of infrastructure needs ground software that can manage complex data and mission control autonomously without relying on other countries.

Comarch’s AI message for CSPs

Marcin Kaleta, CEO of Comarch Communications, said global markets are shifting toward AI adoption and that CSPs must fundamentally rethink their operating models. He said operators can no longer rely solely on consumer mobile services and should pivot toward mission-critical networks, massive IoT deployments, and autonomous multi-orbit satellite infrastructure.

The framing is consistent with the rest of the user group pitch. Comarch positioned intent-based action and composable operations as part of the same move toward automation, not as a separate software project.

The cost case behind intent-based operations

Client case studies presented at the Comarch User Group said that changing systems to support intent-based actions can cut Network Operations Center costs by 30% to 40%. Those same case studies said Mean Time to Repair can improve by 10% to 20%.

Comarch also pointed to a readiness gap: only 6% of CSPs have the data streaming capabilities needed to fully use advanced AI models. That leaves the technical bottleneck squarely on the operator side, not on the model side.

What this signals for satellite and CSP roadmaps

For satellite and CSP planners, the message is less about slogans than about architecture. IRIS²-style sovereign infrastructure needs ground software that can handle autonomous mission control, while mobile operators are being pushed to justify AI and intent-based upgrades against hard operational metrics.

That combination makes AI, IoT, and satellite control less like separate procurement tracks and more like one architecture decision set.
