UnaBiz (ex Sigfox) pushes 0G interoperability with Admiral Blue, Admiral Ivory and a certified ESMT module

UnaBiz acquired Sigfox in 2022 and now positions its 0G network for interoperability, covering 70+ countries and offering Admiral Blue and Admiral Ivory packages with a certified ESMT module launched in March 2025.

UnaBiz (ex Sigfox) pushes 0G interoperability with Admiral Blue, Admiral Ivory and a certified ESMT module

UnaBiz acquired Sigfox in 2022 and has since positioned the Sigfox 0G network around interoperability, spanning more than 70 countries and supporting service packages such as Admiral Blue and Admiral Ivory, including a certified Sigfox ESMT module launched in March 2025.

The technology story starts with Sigfox’s Ultra Narrow Band approach using unlicensed spectrum, with 868 MHz cited for Europe, and an architecture designed for short, infrequent transmissions aimed at low-energy endpoints.

From 0G and UNB to low-energy message profiles

Sigfox developed the first global 0G network for the Internet of Things, intended to move small amounts of data using very low energy consumption. Its technology is built on Ultra Narrow Band, described as using unlicensed frequencies, with 868 MHz cited for Europe.

The data model described for 0G is sized for constrained devices: up to 140 messages of 12 bytes per day while consuming minimal energy. The same source also characterizes rural coverage as reaching up to 50 km, compared with 3 to 10 km in urban areas, and says UNB can enable sensors to operate for 5 to 10 years on a single battery.

Operational footprint and multi-country behavior

The operational base for the network remains in France. The article also states that the network is active in more than 70 countries and reports more than 14 million connected devices.

On “multi-country” device behavior, the described 0G model is built around native portability: a 0G device can connect automatically in covered countries without local configuration or changing the SIM card. For deployment density, it claims that installing 1,500 antennas in France is enough to cover more than 90% of the territory.

Admiral Blue, Admiral Ivory and pay-as-you-go access

UnaBiz is described as having rationalized the Sigfox offer after integrating it, with the service line framed around simplicity, tariff flexibility and scalability. The article says access to 0G is offered using pay-as-you-go models and decreasing tariffs.

Two service offers are specified. Admiral Blue is described for continuous use cases such as infrastructure monitoring and smart meters, allowing up to 140 messages per day with an annual cost often described as between €1 and €9 per sensor. For intermittent needs and “disposable” or temporary-use objects—including parcel tracking—the article points to Admiral Ivory and states the radio module cost is less than €1.90.

Interoperability pushes: GitHub device library and LoRa Alliance

Since its acquisition of Sigfox, UnaBiz is described as pursuing a strategy focused on interoperability between different IoT protocols. The article says UnaBiz published the code of the Sigfox 0G device library via GitHub to promote interoperability.

It also says UnaBiz joined the LoRa Alliance to enable compatibility of Sigfox 0G network technology on LoRa Edge and Semtech’s LoRa Connect platforms. The global strategy direction is described as being piloted by Henri Bong, cofounder and CEO of UnaBiz, since UnaBiz’s purchase of Sigfox in April 2022.

Hardware and security positioning

For the hardware pathway, the article states that in March 2025 UnaBiz launched a certified Sigfox ESMT module (RC1 BRM81W1). It also describes geolocation services such as Monarch and Atlas to localize assets accurately without increasing power consumption or costs.

On security, the article says Sigfox native security relies on a single-device authentication system, with each message transmitted to the cloud described as legitimate and encrypted. It additionally claims that because objects are not permanently connected to the internet and do not use IP addresses, the risk of remote hacking is said to be nearly nil.
