The newbuild is the first vessel in the SPA90 series to join COC’s fleet and is being constructed at Siying Shipyard, after a shipbuilding contract signed on April 30, 2026, with a launching ceremony held on May 20.

From Siying Shipyard to COC’s SPA90 fleet

The vessel is under construction at Siying Shipyard, and AHTS Caspian Yili is expected to join COC’s fleet after delivery and deployment preparations in Q4 2026.

COC said the acquisition represents a milestone as the first SPA90 AHTS vessel in its fleet, and it positioned the move as part of its strategy to invest in offshore marine assets and expand its presence in international offshore markets.

SPA90 specifications: 90 tonnes of bollard pull, DP2, diesel-electric

The SPA90 design is described as featuring 90 tonnes of bollard pull, along with DP2 capability and diesel-electric propulsion.

COC expects the vessel to support towing, anchor handling, field support, subsea operations and offshore construction activities.
