Ericsson Private 5G now available via Verizon Business internationally

Ericsson Private 5G is now available through Verizon Business beyond US borders, aimed at global enterprises already using Ericsson technology in Verizon Business Private 5G Networks in the US.

For those customers, Verizon Business’ international reach is positioned as a way to extend Ericsson Private 5G to international campuses, supported by Ericsson’s dual-mode network approach.

What the Verizon Business availability adds for Ericsson Private 5G

The offering targets multinational customers that already run Ericsson Private 5G via Verizon Business in the US, then want the same private wireless networking solution across international locations.

Verizon Business says the expansion gives private wireless customers “more optionality and flexibility” when operating across international borders, while the setup is described as enabling extension of Ericsson Private 5G beyond the US to international campuses.

Network characteristics: dual-mode 4G/5G with global spectrum support

Ericsson Private 5G is described as a dual mode 4G and 5G network with global spectrum support.

The solution is pitched for connecting “the most challenging areas on the planet,” and it is framed around real-time deployments such as automated manufacturing, industrial IoT, and AI-driven analytics.

Use cases positioned for private-network needs

Ericsson’s positioning includes keeping data and traffic local within a private network to support compliance and regulatory requirements.

The described supported use cases also include warehouse automation and asset tracking, along with vehicle-to-infrastructure communications and connectivity for remote diagnostics and medical imaging technologies.

Executives frame the expansion around global replication

Ericsson’s Hannes Ekstrf6m, Senior Vice President and Head of Customer Unit at Ericsson Americas, said enterprises are leveraging secure, high-performing private 5G networks as a driver of innovation and efficiency.

Ekstrf6m also said Ericsson multinational customers in the U.S. have already unlocked significant growth through 5G-enabled private networks and now seek to replicate this success globally; he added that the Verizon collaboration expands the reach of Ericsson Private 5G to support Verizon Business’ international deployments and is intended to simplify 5G adoption while enhancing reliability, low latency, and security.

On the Verizon side, Robb Juliano, Vice President of 5G Acceleration at Verizon Business, said Verizon Business is proud of its expanding private wireless portfolio and committed to providing the best possible private wireless experience to customers around the world.

Juliano added that extending Ericsson Private 5G outside the U.S. offers enterprises more flexibility for innovation, security, and optimization with private wireless networks on a global scale.

Extra signal: Verizon’s earlier private wireless work

The same Verizon Business track record described in the coverage includes networking solutions and services plugged into host stadiums, cities, and FIFA Fan Festival locations in Canada, Mexico, and the US.

The article also describes capacity and coverage enhancements during that effort, including adding more 5G spectrum to boost capacity by an estimated three to five times across all host stadiums, installing thousands of antennas under seats, and deploying nearly 140 small cells and temporary cell sites.
