NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS will add SGP.32 support to its docomo business SIGN Pro IoT service in March 2027, with pricing still undisclosed.
Portal and API control over SIM lifecycle
Pro is a new tier of the docomo business SIGN IoT-focused network-as-a-service platform. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS says customers will be able to activate, suspend, and terminate SIMs through a portal or APIs and integrate those processes with their own systems.
The platform also provides centralized monitoring of SIM and device status and usage. Anomaly detection, notifications, and configuration changes can be automated, and SIM information and device status can be integrated into business systems and service platforms, including applications for remote control and status notifications.
SGP.32 shifts profile changes to post-shipment operations
From March 2027, customers will be able to change communications profiles through the Pro portal or APIs after devices have been manufactured and shipped. The platform will also allow communications providers to be changed remotely without replacing physical SIMs.
That moves profile management into the operational phase of the device lifecycle instead of tying it to the factory floor. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS says the service is intended for companies deploying connected products at large scale in Japan and international markets.
Security monitoring sits in the same environment
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS says the underlying SIGN service includes threat-intelligence-based detection for communications between IoT devices and malicious servers. The company says communications can be blocked at the individual SIM level when required.
Read for IoT platform buyers
For OEMs and connectivity teams, the disclosed terms matter because the service combines SIM lifecycle control, SGP.32 support, and security monitoring in one environment. Pricing is still undisclosed, so Pro is a product announcement and a timing notice, not a commercial benchmark yet.
