Telit Cinterion and Commstar Radio have partnered, with Commstar Radio set to offer Telit Cinterion’s NExT SIM connectivity solution to municipal and critical infrastructure customers.
The partnership centers on a single SIM that can access multiple carrier networks for secure communications in urban, rural, and hard-to-reach areas.
What NExT SIM brings to the package
NExT SIM provides access to more than 600 mobile carrier networks globally, including the three major US networks. It is built on Telit Cinterion’s georedundant NExT global network and supports cellular technologies from 2G to 5G.
The solution is intended for both LPWA devices and high-bandwidth applications. Commstar Radio can use it to offer customers resilient multi-network connectivity, Cat M and NB-IoT coverage, and greater operational reliability across urban, rural, and hard-to-reach environments.
Commstar Radio’s customer base
Commstar Radio specializes in wireless communications and connectivity for municipalities, utilities, transportation providers, field service teams, and public infrastructure operators. Its services include land mobile communications, push-to-talk over cellular, wireless infrastructure connectivity, secure wireless services, mobile device management, cloud communications, and cybersecurity.
The company also serves customers in utilities, field services, local government, energy, transportation, and public infrastructure.
Village of Reeseville deployment
An initial deployment with the Village of Reeseville, Wisconsin, shows the partnership in municipal communications and public service operations.
Jake Pacala, village president of Reeseville, said Commstar Radio has been a trusted and reliable partner for the village since the company’s inception.
Kevin Hankes, president of Commstar Radio, said customers depend on communications systems that work wherever their teams operate and that the partnership lets Commstar Radio provide resilient multi-network connectivity with greater reliability, security, and flexibility than traditional single-carrier solutions.
Martin Krona, president of services and solutions at Telit Cinterion, said organizations responsible for public services, utilities, transportation, and field operations need connectivity beyond a single carrier and that the partnership enables secure, resilient communications across multiple carrier networks.
Read for municipal and utility buyers
The disclosed benchmark here is not pricing but scope: a single-SIM offer tied to more than 600 networks and coverage that includes the three major US networks. For municipalities, utilities, and other public-infrastructure buyers, that makes the package a concrete reference point for multi-network connectivity requirements.
