Celona adds Orion as a converged wireless platform for private 5G

Celona is expanding Orion with Wi-Fi, satellite and public network support, and says it will ship in Q4 2026.

Celona adds Orion as a converged wireless platform for private 5G

Celona is expanding from private 5G into a converged wireless platform called Orion, with Wi-Fi, satellite and public network support and agentic AI across those technologies and physical AI workloads.

Celona said Orion will be available in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Wi-Fi and radios join the enterprise subscription

For the first time, Celona is adding Wi-Fi to its private 5G offer. The company will package Wi-Fi 7 access points and 5G radios under a multi-year enterprise subscription model.

Celona says private 5G is best suited for reach and deterministic performance for autonomous machines, while Wi-Fi is better suited to bandwidth-intensive applications.

Celona CEO Rajeev Shah said customers had been forced to choose between Wi-Fi and cellular.

Starlink enters the orchestrator

The Orion orchestrator can also manage Starlink links alongside 5G and Wi-Fi for enterprises that use Starlink at remote or temporary sites. Celona is not distributing or reselling Starlink.

The company has updated its orchestrator with agentic AI capabilities based on its own model, Celona Brain. Celona said the new Orchestrator AI draws on the knowledge and experience of its engineers to build a library of skills and agents.

Shah said the system is like having the entire Celona engineering team available at all times.

AerConnect targets robotics and AI devices

Celona is also launching an open-source wireless agent called AerConnect to manage multi-network connectivity on robotics and AI devices. Celona said AerConnect is intended to let devices move across private 5G, Wi-Fi, public cellular and satellite networks.

The company said Orion will include four or five pre-built agents for enterprise wireless teams, with the agents acting like digital teammates that can diagnose and fix issues.

Celona said most of its enterprise customers are in manufacturing, logistics, mining, ports, retail and transportation, and Shah said robotics and physical AI are driving network modernization in those industries.

Read for private wireless buyers

Celona is disclosing a converged bundle rather than a private-5G-only stack, and the subscription now spans Wi-Fi 7 access points, 5G radios and Orion orchestration. Buyers comparing converged wireless options now have a vendor-owned benchmark on scope and timing, with availability set for Q4 2026.
