PLDT Enterprise taps 6D Technologies for Philippines IoT platform

PLDT Enterprise will partner with 6D Technologies on an IoT Connectivity Management Platform for enterprises in the Philippines. The deal centers on 6D Technologies’ carrier-grade platform for managing IoT services at scale.

PLDT Enterprise is the corporate business arm of PLDT in the Philippines, and its mobile service operates as Smart. 6D Technologies is a global telecommunications software company focused on BSS/OSS platforms, IoT connectivity management, and digital transformation for mobile network operators.

What PLDT Enterprise is buying into

The partnership centers on 6D Technologies’ IoT Connectivity Management Platform. The platform helps telecom operators create, package, deploy, and manage IoT services at scale, and it includes a flexible commercial engine, a multi-tenant structure, and automated SIM and device lifecycle management.

PLDT Enterprise says the platform could help it build more dynamic bundled offerings, create more accessible starting points for SMEs and mid-market customers, and support customers as their IoT requirements grow.

Operational changes inside the stack

The platform features are designed to help PLDT Enterprise respond more quickly to market demand and support enterprise growth with less back-end intervention. That is the practical reading here: more packaging flexibility on the front end, fewer manual steps behind it.

Read for enterprise IoT buyers in the Philippines

For enterprise buyers, the immediate signal is that PLDT Enterprise is tying its IoT offer to a carrier-grade CMP rather than treating connectivity as a static SIM resale business. The company is explicitly positioning the platform for SMEs and mid-market customers as well as larger enterprise accounts.
